Terms of Service

Effective date: 4 September 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Pål Strand (private individual, Sweden — “we”), the provider of the Golf Course Atlas app. By creating an account you accept these terms. Contact: support@golfcourseatlas.app.

1. The service

Golf Course Atlas is a subscription app that shows golf courses around the world on a map and lets you track courses you have played, save favourites, and write reviews. The course database is stored on your device so the app also works offline; your account content syncs across your devices.

2. Course information — no guarantees

Course data is compiled from open sources, including © OpenStreetMap contributors (available under the Open Database License), and from other public sources, and is continuously improved. The information is provided for guidance only. Names, positions, hole counts, contact details and other facts may be incomplete, outdated or wrong. Always confirm with the golf club before travelling or booking. We are not affiliated with the golf clubs shown in the app.

3. Your account

  • You must provide a valid email address and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Your display name is shown publicly next to your reviews — do not use a name you do not have the right to use.
  • You can change your name, email and password under Profile → Edit profile, and delete your account at any time under Profile → Delete account.

4. Subscription, trial and billing

  • Golf Course Atlas requires a subscription: 29 SEK per year, or the equivalent price in your local currency as shown in the app before purchase.
  • New subscribers get a 3-day free trial. You can cancel during the trial and pay nothing. When the trial ends, the yearly subscription starts automatically.
  • The subscription renews automatically every year until cancelled.
  • Payment is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play — we never see your payment details. The charge appears on your store account.
  • Cancel anytime in your store subscription settings (App Store: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; Google Play: Menu → Payments & subscriptions). Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge. Cancelling stops future renewals; the period you paid for keeps running until its end date.
  • Refunds and the right of withdrawal are handled by Apple and Google under their policies. By starting the trial or purchase you agree that the digital service is delivered immediately; statutory withdrawal rights, where applicable, are exercised through the store you purchased from.
  • If a price change ever applies to you, the store notifies you in advance and the change takes effect at the next renewal — never retroactively.
  • Deleting your account does not by itself cancel the subscription — cancel it in your store settings.

5. Reviews and your content

  • You own the reviews and ratings you post. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display them in the app alongside your display name, for as long as they remain posted.
  • Reviews must reflect your genuine experience and must not contain offensive, defamatory, misleading or unlawful content, personal data about others, advertising, or spam.
  • We may moderate, edit for formatting, or remove reviews that break these rules. You can edit or delete your own review at any time.

6. Acceptable use

You may not misuse the service — including attempting to access other users’ data, scraping or mass-extracting the course database, reverse engineering the app except where the law permits it, or using the service for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms; if we do, we will tell you why.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its design and its content (except your content and third-party data) belong to us and our licensors. Course data is partly © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL). Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app — nothing more is transferred.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available and improve it continuously, but we cannot promise uninterrupted, error-free operation. Features may be added, changed or removed. Reading other users’ reviews and syncing require an internet connection; the map and course database work offline.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, or for decisions made based on course information in the app (see section 2). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law. As a consumer you may also turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, arn.se) or the EU online dispute resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/odr).

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the service or the law changes. For significant changes we notify you in the app before they take effect. If you continue using the app after that, the new terms apply. The current version is always available in the app and on our website.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes are resolved by Swedish courts, without limiting your rights as a consumer to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
